Privacy Policy

Nick Juliano Media, LLC, operating as The Caregiver Crisis Initiative ("company," "we," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through this Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy governs your access to and use of [yourwebsite.com], including any content, functionality, and services offered on or through the website, whether as a guest or registered user.

When you access our website or take our course, we learn certain information about you—both automatically and through actions you choose to take during your visit. This policy applies to information we collect on the website and in emails, text messages, or other electronic messages between you and us.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully before you start to use our website or course. By using our website or course, or by clicking to accept this policy when given the option, you agree to follow this Privacy Policy. This means you understand it and accept our practices. If you do not want to agree to this Privacy Policy, you must not access or use our website or course.

WHAT THIS COURSE IS (AND WHAT IT'S NOT)

What this IS:

This is a learning course. I teach you about tools that can help your aging loved one. I also help you make a simple plan.

That's it.

What this is NOT:

This is not a doctor talking to you. It's not a lawyer. It's not someone who tells you how to handle money.

Important: I am not a doctor, nurse, lawyer, or money expert.

I'm just someone—a son and grandson—who spent a lot of time researching. I'm sharing what I found with you.

This course is not the same as talking to a real doctor.

Always talk to your loved one's doctor before you make big changes.

EVERY FAMILY IS DIFFERENT

Your family is not like anyone else's family.

What helps one person might not help another person.

What works for your neighbor's mom might not work for your mom or dad.

That's why you know your loved one best.

I can show you tools and ideas. But you get to decide what's right for YOUR family.

Before you buy anything or make a big change: Talk to your loved one's doctor first.

Your doctor knows your loved one's health better than anyone. Ask them before you try something new.

ABOUT THE TOOLS IN THIS COURSE

Where These Tools Come From:

I spent hundreds of hours researching real tools that help with aging and caregiving. I organized many of these tools using The Gerontechnologist's public AgeTech Market Map (created by Keren Etkin). I am not associated with Keren Etkin or The Gerontechnologist—I'm just using her publicly available research and breaking it down in a way that helps family caregivers.

What We Do NOT Do:

We do not test every company or promise they're perfect. We do not say we endorse or recommend them. We do not work with these companies or make money from them (unless we clearly tell you).

The company's features, prices, privacy policies, and how they perform—that's not our responsibility. We just organize and share tools that exist.

What YOU Need To Do:

Before you buy anything or use a tool:

  • Research the company yourself
  • Read customer reviews
  • Check their privacy policy
  • Talk to your loved one's doctor first
  • Make sure it's the right fit for YOUR family

THINGS CHANGE FAST

Technology changes fast. Companies update prices, change features, and update their policies all the time. Before you buy anything, check with the company directly to make sure the information is still accurate.

YOUR CHOICES ARE YOUR RESPONSIBILITY

You're Making Your Own Decisions:

When you use this course, you understand that you are making your own choices about what tools to use and what to do for your family. We are not telling you what to do—we're just providing information.

You're Responsible for Vetting Companies:

You are responsible for researching and checking out each company before you use them. You need to read their reviews, understand their policies, and decide if they're safe for your loved one.

We Are Not Responsible If Something Goes Wrong:

If a company doesn't work the way you want, or if something goes wrong with a tool, that's not our fault. We are not responsible for problems that happen because of any company or tool you choose to use.

You Understand the Risks:

By using this course, you agree that you understand these tools and services might have problems. Companies make mistakes. Technology changes. Not everything works perfectly for everyone.

You're in Control:

You have the power to say yes or no to any tool. You get to decide what's right for your family. That power and responsibility are yours.

WHAT IS IT'S AN EMERGENCY?

If Your Loved One Is In Danger:

If your loved one is hurt, sick, or in trouble right now, call 911 or your local emergency number immediately.

Don't Wait For an App:

Do not use a tool, app, or course to handle an emergency. These are not fast enough and not designed for emergencies.

Call 911 First:

Always call 911 first. Then you can use other tools and resources after the emergency is handled.

This Course Is Not Emergency Help:

Nothing in this course replaces calling for help in an emergency. We cannot and will not help you in an emergency situation.

When In Doubt, Call:

If you're not sure if it's an emergency, call 911. It's better to call and not need it than to wait and regret it.

METHODS OF PAYMENT

Automatic Payments:

If you choose the payment plan, you're giving us permission to charge your credit card or debit card automatically. We'll charge you according to the plan you picked when you bought the course.

If Your Card Doesn't Work:

If your card is declined (the charge doesn't go through), you need to give us a new card number right away. If you don't, we'll have to turn off your course access.

Finishing Your Payment Plan:

If you don't ask for your money back within the refund window, you have to finish paying for the course. Your access will keep working automatically while you pay. We're allowed to charge your card until the full amount is paid.

This Is a Payment Plan, Not a Membership:

When you buy the course with a payment plan, you understand you're paying for the course in parts—not paying for something that renews every month. You agree to pay the full amount according to the schedule you chose.

If We Suspect Fraud:

If something looks suspicious (like someone might have stolen your information), we can pause refunds and stop your course access while we investigate. If we find out fraud really did happen, we can permanently remove your course access, cancel your payment plan immediately, and deny any refund requests. We'll tell you what we found.

CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 13

Our website and course are not made for children under 13 years old. If you are under 13, do not use our website or course. Do not give us any information about yourself, such as your name, email address, phone number, or any username you use. Do not create an account, make a purchase, or post comments on our website.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. However, if we find out that we have collected information from a child under 13 without a parent's permission, we will delete that information right away. If you believe we might have any information from or about a child under 13, please contact us at nick@thecaregiverscrisisinitiative.com.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT ABOUT YOU

When you visit our website and use our course, we collect certain information about you. Some of this information you give to us directly. Other information we collect automatically as you use the website.

Information You Provide To Us. You give us information when you fill out forms on our website, contact us with questions, respond to surveys, search our website, leave comments, or buy a course or product. We collect this information to deliver the course or product you ordered, to improve our website and service, and to send you offers and information about new courses or updates.

Information We Collect Automatically. When you visit our website, we use automatic data collection technology—including Google Analytics—to collect information about your computer, your browsing actions, and how you use our website. This includes information about your location, the pages you visit, the type of computer or phone you use, your internet connection, your IP address, your operating system, and your browser type.

We use this automatic information to understand how people use our website and to make it better. This automatic information is generally not personal information—we just use it to see patterns and trends. However, if you give us personal information (like your name and email), we may connect that personal information with the automatic data we collect.

USE OF COOKIES AND PIXELS

Our website uses a technology called "cookies" to collect information about how people use our site. Cookies are very small text files that your browser stores on your computer. When you visit our website, we ask your computer for permission to save a cookie. This cookie helps us remember information about your visit, such as the date and time you visited, which pages you looked at, how long you stayed, and your IP address. Each website can only see its own cookies—our website cannot see cookies from other websites, which protects your privacy.

We also use something called "pixels" on our website. Pixels are tools that allow social media companies (like Facebook and Instagram) to see that you visited our website. These pixels help those companies show you targeted ads based on your visit to our site. We use these pixels according to the rules and policies of each social media company.

You can control whether or not cookies are stored on your computer through your browser settings. If you do not want cookies stored, you can turn them off, but this may affect how our website works for you.

COOKIE CONSENT AND COOKIE BANNER

Before we place non-essential cookies on your device, we will ask for your permission through a cookie consent banner. When you visit our website, you will see a cookie banner that explains what cookies we use and why.

Your Cookie Choices:

You can:

  • Accept all cookies
  • Reject non-essential cookies
  • Customize your cookie preferences

You can change your cookie settings at any time by updating your preferences in your browser or by contacting us at nick@thecaregiverscrisisinitiative.com.

Essential vs. Non-Essential Cookies:

We use essential cookies to make our website function properly. We use non-essential cookies for analytics (to understand how visitors use our site) and marketing (to show you targeted ads based on your interests). You must consent to non-essential cookies before we place them on your device.

If you do not consent to non-essential cookies, we will still be able to provide you with our website and course—your experience may just be different.

THIRD PARTY USE OF COOKIES

Some of the content, ads, and applications on our website come from other companies (third parties). These include advertisers, ad networks, content providers, and app providers. These third parties may use cookies, tracking pixels, and other tools to collect information about you when you visit our website. They may track your activities across multiple websites and use that information to show you ads based on your interests.

We do not control how these third parties collect or use your information. We cannot tell them what to do with the data they gather. If you have questions about how an advertisement or targeted content works, you should contact that company directly—not us. Each third party is responsible for their own tracking and advertising practices.

EMAIL INFORMATION

If you send us an email, we may keep a copy of your email message, your email address, and our response to you. We protect your emails the same way we protect all your personal information on our website. This also applies when you sign up for our course, fill out forms on our website using your email address, or make a purchase. We store these emails securely and do not share them with third parties without your permission.

EMAIL POLICIES

We keep your email address private. We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with other companies. We will only share your email with third parties if you give us permission or if the law requires us to.

We follow all federal laws about how we keep and use the emails you send us. Every email we send you will clearly say who it's from and provide contact information so you know how to reach us. All our emails also include instructions on how to unsubscribe or remove yourself from our mailing list.

We comply with the CAN-SPAM Act, which is a federal law about how companies send emails. This means every email from us gives you an easy way to stop receiving emails from us. You can unsubscribe (opt-out) by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email we send you. If you no longer want to receive our newsletter or promotional emails, you can click that unsubscribe link at any time, and we will remove you from our mailing list.

HOW AND WHY WE COLLECT INFORMATION

We collect your information to support the activities you choose to participate in. For example, if you download a free resource, sign up for our newsletter, or buy a course from us, we collect your information. We use this information to remember what you're interested in and to keep you updated about products and services you chose to receive. You can browse most of our website without giving us any personal information. We only ask for your information when you want to download resources, sign up for a newsletter, or buy something from us.

If you are not in the European Union and you download free resources, join free training, register for a webinar or live event, or buy a product from us, we will automatically add you to our free email newsletter. If you do not want to receive this newsletter, you can unsubscribe anytime by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email we send you. If you have trouble unsubscribing, you can email us at nick@thecaregiverscrisisinitiative.com.

If you are in the European Union and you download free resources, join free training, register for a webinar or live event, or buy a product from us, we will only add you to our email newsletter if you say yes to it first. If you have trouble unsubscribing, you can email us at nick@thecaregiverscrisisinitiative.com.

DATA RETENTION

We retain your personal information for as long as needed to provide our services to you and fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy.

  • Cookies and tracking data: Analytics cookies are retained for 26 months. Marketing cookies are retained according to the policies of the third-party platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.).
  • Course access logs: We retain login and activity logs for 12 months.

If you request deletion of your personal information, we will delete it within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it (such as for tax or legal compliance).

EU Users (GDPR):

If you are in the European Union, you have the right to request deletion of your data at any time. We will honor deletion requests within 30 days, except where we have a legal obligation to retain your information.

HOW DO WE USE THE INFORMATION THAT YOU PROVIDE TO US?

We use your personal information to show you our website and its content, to send you information about products and services, to manage your subscriptions and orders, to complete any purchase you make from us, to run our business, to provide customer service, and to offer you new products and services.

From time to time, we may use your information to offer you products or services from other companies. If you decide to take part in one of these offers, the other company will receive your information. You always have the choice whether or not to participate in these offers.

From time to time, we may use your information to show you ads that are tailored to your interests and activities. This means we may show you ads based on what we know about you and what you're interested in.

DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INFORMATION

As a general rule, we do not sell, rent, share, or give your information to other companies. We keep your information private.

However, we may share your personal information with companies that help us provide our services to you. These include our business partners and service providers who work with us to run our course and website.

We may share your personal information with a lawyer or collection agency if we need to enforce our terms of service or any agreement between you and us. For example, if you do not pay for a product you purchased, we may need to share your information with a collection agency.

If our company merges with another company, gets sold, or goes through a major business change, we may share your information with the new company as part of that transaction.

We may disclose your information when the law requires us to do so. This means if a court, government agency, or law enforcement asks for your information, we may have to give it to them. We will do this when we believe, in good faith, that the law requires it or to protect our legal rights.

HOW DO WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION AND SECURE INFORMATION TRANSMISSIONS?

We use industry-standard security methods to protect the information you give us and the information we collect automatically on our website. This includes using secure security protocols and working only with trusted companies. We take your security seriously and work hard to keep your information safe.

Email is not a secure way to send information. We ask that you do not send private information to us through email. However, if you choose to do so, you are doing it at your own risk. Some information you enter on our website is sent securely using a technology called Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). Your credit card information and other sensitive information is never sent through email—we always use secure methods for that.

We use software programs to track information about how people use our website. This helps us understand how many people visit different parts of our site, which information is most popular, and if there are any technical problems we need to fix.

We also use software programs to monitor our website for security purposes. These programs look for unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or anything else that could damage our website or harm our users. This helps us keep our website safe and available for everyone.

POLICY CHANGES

We may change this privacy policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will post them on this page. If we make major changes to how we protect your personal information, we will email you to let you know. We will also post a notice on our website's home page. The date we last updated this privacy policy is shown at the bottom of this page.

It is your responsibility to keep your email address up to date with us so we can reach you if needed. It is also your responsibility to check this page and our website from time to time to see if we have made any changes to this policy. If you do not agree with any changes we make, you can stop using our website or course.

VISITORS’ GDPR RIGHTS

If you are in the European Union, you have certain rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Here's what those rights are:

We will keep any information you give us until one of these things happens: you ask us to delete it, we decide to stop using our data providers, or we decide that keeping the information costs us more than it's worth.

You have the right to ask us what information we have about you and to see that information. You also have the right to ask us to fix information that is wrong or to delete your information completely.

You have the right to ask us to limit how we use your information and the right to object to us using your information. You also have the right to get a copy of your information so you can move it to another company if you want.

If you gave us permission to use your information, you can take that permission back at any time. Taking it back does not affect anything we already did with your permission before you took it back.

You have the right to file a complaint with a government authority in your country if you believe we are not protecting your information properly under GDPR rules.

We only ask for information that we need to provide our services to you. We will not ask you to give us permission to use information in ways that are not necessary just so you can buy our course or use our services.
